After practicing clinical nutrition in the West Indies for many years, Mickaëlla is currently a 1st year doctoral student in the Department of Nutrition at UDEM. Originally from Guadeloupe, his research interests focus on the quality of food for populations in the Global South and on public policies in terms of food and nutrition.

For her doctoral thesis, Mickaella will focus on the food systems in force in the French overseas territories and on the evaluation of public policies aimed at improving the food environments of these populations of the French-speaking Caribbean. In this project Mickaëlla obtained the support of the local authorities of Guadeloupe and Martinique and she also benefits from the support of the Department of Nutrition of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal. It will also benefit from the informal support of a network of researchers sharing the same scientific interests and affiliated with IDRC, CARICOM or the INFORMAS network.

If today Mickaëlla's professional interests lead her towards a more holistic vision of nutrition, she remains in her region and in her discipline a clinical nutritionist renowned for her media interventions and for her innovative protocols combining micronutrition with therapeutic education. and nutrition of the patient. It is affiliated with the Union of Francophone Nutritherapists (UDNF) and the European Institute of Applied Nutritherapy (IENPA).
